The ACTIA iCAN telematics box: all LV / LCV electronics remotely accessible via a single “OBD dongle” made in France

Designed and manufactured by an automotive supplier

iCAN is a 100% ACTIA product. Developed in the group’s design offices, it is manufactured in its production unit located in the south of France. ACTIA is an internationally recognised equipment manufacturer, specialising in the design and manufacture of on-board electronic systems for vehicles. Certified IATF16949, ACTIA is one of the world leaders in telematics for heavy goods vehicles. This expertise in VtoX is accompanied by a mastery of cybersecurity and operating safety issues.

Multi-brand with quick and safe installation and automatic vehicle recognition

Installation of the ACTIA iCAN takes an average of 20 minutes (depending on the location of the vehicle’s OBD socket). Thanks to its Y cable, the installation is secure and totally invisible in the vehicle. The OBD Diag socket is returned, allowing the vehicle to be taken to the workshop and to the technical inspection without disconnecting the box.

The iCAN box is multi-brand. Plug&Play, just connect it to a vehicle and it recognises it in a few minutes. No special programming is required, even when connecting to a new vehicle.

Real-time reading of vehicle data: CAN, DIAG, OBD

ACTIA iCAN “listens” to the vehicle data by combining 3 reading protocols: OBD, CAN, DIAG. It is thus able to read both status data (KM, levels, distance to next service, faults) and live data (RPM, instantaneous consumption, temperatures). The iCAN dataset contains more than 300 pieces of data and allows a wide range of applications to be built.

Reading manufacturer's fault codes: Diagnostic Trouble Code

The unique function of the ACTIA iCAN unit is the reading and translation of manufacturer’s fault codes. ACTIA iCAN is thus the most advanced unit on the market in terms of connected maintenance.

Depending on the needs of each customer and project, the ACTIA iCAN box supports a large number of sensors and peripherals: connection of the driver’s smartphone via Bluetooth, driver identification in 4 possible methods, pro/private switch in 3 possible variants, temperature sensors, etc.
