the issues

Driving behaviour has a strong impact on the loss ratio of fleets, the amount of vehicle insurance premiums and therefore their TCO.
Analysing driving behaviour in order to reduce the risk of accidents and to determine an insurance premium based on an objective risk is therefore a major challenge for fleet managers.
It is a telematics service that can optimise and even rapidly reduce the cost of owning or using a vehicle. In the same way, insurance companies can adapt their pricing policy according to information on different driving behaviour.

The actia iCAN Solution

ACTIA iCAN provides data enabling a detailed analysis of the driving behaviour of each driver: engine speed, speed, energy consumption, etc., depending on the driving environment. This information allows the manager to act at several levels:

  • Raising awareness and/or training drivers in eco-driving to reduce energy consumption and the risk of accidents,
  • Determine a driving score for each driver and negotiate insurance premiums based on this score,

In the event of an accident, the accelerometer embedded in ACTIA iCAN detects shocks and sends an alert message while data is recorded that will provide information to reconstruct the circumstances of the accident: speed, steering, pedal position, engine speed, etc.

Thanks to the ACTIA iCan box, insurance companies can accurately analyse the driving behaviour of policyholders. Such a solution enables car insurers to segment drivers by defining performance indicators.

The data provided by ACTIA iCAN is essential for both the manager and the insurer. ACTIA iCAN can help improve driving behaviour and thus have a positive impact on road safety by raising drivers’ awareness.
